Andrew McGrath

Andrew McGrath graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2006 with an Honours degree in Economics and Philosophy.  In 2008, Andrew graduated from the Inns of Court School of Law in Grays Inn in Law with Commendation. He trained at Streathers Solicitors LLP and qualified in 2010 before joining Davenport Lyons in January 2012.

Andrew’s practice focuses on property development, construction, and conveyancing, assisting Peter Aldis and Marilyn Elstow on site acquisitions, construction and subsequent on-sales of residential units.  His work incorporates both contentious issues and non-contentious transactions in both the residential and commercial property practice areas.

Recent experience includes:

  • Assisting with the acquisition of a multi-million pound greenfield site in London subject to planning.
  • Assisting with a development agreement on behalf of a land owner for the construction and subsequent sale of a 200 unit hotel in London.
  • Assisting with the drafting of various property development contracts including joint venture agreements between land developers and investors.
  • Advising landlords and tenants on a range of property matters including collective enfranchisement, rights of first refusal matters and statutory lease extensions.
  • Extensive experience in acting for buyers, sellers and private banks in the London residential property market.

In his spare time, Andrew enjoys cycling and running, regularly competing in half and full marathons and triathlon.
