Joanna Onisiforou
Joanna became a Graduate Member of the Institute of Legal Executives (ILEX) in October 2008. She completed her training and gained her qualifying experience at Thomas Eggar LLP, a top 100 UK law firm. Joanna became a qualified lawyer and Fellow of ILEX in November 2010 and joined Davenport Lyons in January 2012.
Joanna has specialised in property related litigation whilst maintaining an interest in general dispute resolution. Joanna has acted for major mortgage lenders, Receivers appointed by mortgage lenders, large property owning companies and private landlords. A large part of Joanna’s caseload involves dealing with both licensing and road traffic cases.
Recent experience includes:
- Lodging applications for new premises licences.
- Assisting in an appeal against a decision by DVLA to limit the grant of a driving licence.
- Recovering arrears of ground rent and service charges.
- Dealing with Assured Shorthold Tenancy possession claims under both the general and accelerated procedure.
- Recovering possession of properties in trespass and squatters claims.
- Enforcing County Court Judgments and Possession Orders.
- Acting in Receivership litigation.
- Assisting in various mortgage repossession actions.
- Assisting with Section 25 lease renewals.
Outside of work Joanna enjoys running, going to the gym and spending time with her family and friends.
