Matthew Harris
Matthew Harris graduated from Bournemouth University with a degree in Taxation & Law. He joined Davenport Lyons as a trainee in 2006 and qualified in 2008.
Matthew’s practice focuses on acting for commercial property lenders including banks, building societies, and finance houses on both investment and development facilities and on a range of commercial property matters including acquisitions, disposals and landlord and tenant management work. He also has experience in dealing with high value residential property acquisitions.
Recent experience includes:
- Acting for a bank on the refinance of a hotel in Wimbledon for a consideration of over £10m.
- Acting for a private finance house on the acquisition of two commercial properties in the City of London for a consideration of over £5m.
- Acting for a bank on the acquisition of a commercial property in the City of London for a consideration of over £3m.
- Acting on the acquisition of premises occupied by Barclays Bank Plc for a consideration of £2.7m.
- Acting on the acquisition of a residential property in Beaconsfield for a consideration of £2.6m.
- Acting on numerous licences to assign and licences for alterations for various clients.
In his spare time, Matthew enjoys cycling and playing basketball, regularly competing in the London Metropolitan Basketball League.
