Susan Haggard

Susan graduated from Girton College, Cambridge in 1982 with an Honours degree in Law. She trained at Speechly Bircham and qualified in 1985, becoming a Partner there three years later. Susan joined Davenport Lyons as a Partner in 2003.

Susan‘s practice focuses on all aspects of commercial property investment, funding and development, including greenfield and brownfield redevelopment as well as city centre/urban regeneration.

She is experienced in complex transactional projects, including joint ventures and limited partnerships, acting for both companies and institutions.

As well as development and investment expertise, Susan also has significant experience in leasing and management, including shopping centre management.

Experience includes:

  • Acting for a large property company in their multi-use (offices/retail/hotel/residential/ leisure) urban regeneration development in central London.
  • A major town centre shopping development via a limited partnership vehicle and in conjunction with the local authority.
  • A regional town centre regeneration scheme acting for the developer in conjunction with the local authority via compulsory purchase
  • Acting for the funding institution in the development of a southbank landmark building
  • A number of joint venture office redevelopment projects.
  • The development and funding of a biotech building on a Cambridge science park.
  • Acting for a major institution in the sale of a £300m mixed portfolio of office, industrial, warehouse/distribution and retail investment properties
  • The acquisition and disposal of major multi-let investments, including, the acquisition of two city towers.
  • Acting for the landowner/developer in the brownfield development of a new London hotel.

In her spare time Susan acts as taxi-driver for her family, collects moon-landing memorabilia and loves antique silver, travel and Italy.
