| Catherine
graduated from Bristol University with a degree in
Economics & Politics in 1994. She was articled
at Linklaters & Alliance spending 5 months in
their Singapore office working on banking and project
finance matters before joining their corporate department
in London. Catherine joined Davenport Lyons in 1999
and became an Associate in July 2002. Since October
2001 she has been acting as a professional support
lawyer to the corporate department. Her experience
includes:
- Working with public limited companies, both quoted
and unquoted, on mergers, acquisitions and intra-group
reorganisations.
- Acting for a number of investment funds, dealing
with formations and listings, both in the UK and
elsewhere in Europe.
- Acting for clients on public offers for shares,
both where such shares are to be listed and where
they are not.
- Acting on a number of private company takeovers.
- Acting for clients, both private and public,
on rights issues and related reconstruction proposals.
- Advising on a range of intellectual property
matters, including software licenses, trade marks
and digital television carriage agreements.
- Advising numerous clients on data protection
matters.
- Advising on a range of employment related matters,
including consultancy agreements and “loan
out” agreements.
- Acting for numerous Internet start-up companies,
providing both general commercial and corporate
finance advice.
In her current role as professional support lawyer
Catherine focuses on training, know-how, precedent
production and client updates.
