Alun
was educated at the University of London and the College
of Law. He joined Davenport Lyons from Eversheds in
January 2002 and has been a partner since July 2004. He
is head of the licensing department and joint head
of the leisure group.
Alun has a wealth of experience in
contentious and non-contentious work. He is known
for his work for developer clients and for late-night
licensing. He also advises casinos and bookmakers.
Alun is very familiar with the issues arising from licensing
reform and advised the Restaurant Association in
this respect. He is an editor of Paterson’s
on-line service, is a member of Business in Sport
and Leisure and sits on the DCMS advisory group.
Alun is described by clients in Chambers UK 2008
as “affable,
personable and extremely easy to deal with,” and is
considered “a vital presence” in complicated
cases, making him a “real standout lawyer in the
London market.”
