| After
graduating from Southampton University, Janet was articled
with Stephenson Harwood and qualified in 1978. She
joined Davenport Lyons in 2002 from DLA and is a partner
in the Property Department heading up the Contentious
Property Group. She became head of the Property Department
in March 2008.
She has extensive experience of commercial property
related contentious matters acting for the full range
of property clients - major property and development
companies, private property investment companies,
charities, accountants, Insurance companies, quasi
Governmental bodies and lending institutions.
Her clients have included Barclays Bank, Royal Bank
of Scotland, Sun Life Assurance Society, CIT Group,
Frasers, Greenwich NHS Trust and Covent Garden Market
Authority advising on:
- All aspects of commercial landlord and tenant
litigation including Landlord and Tenant Act 1954
(as amended) matters, rent reviews, dilapidations
claims, breach of covenant and forfeiture claims.
- Enfranchisement claims – acting for both
landlords and tenants.
- Disputes between neighbours including right to
light claims involving both commercial and residential
property.
- Contractual disputes.
- Insolvency insofar as it relates to property.
- Profession Negligence Claims.
