Companies Act 2006
The Companies Act 2006 (the 'Act') is the result of eight
long years of consultation, and is the biggest Act of Parliament
in history. It introduces sweeping changes to company law,
with the aim throughout being to simplify and improve it.
Due to the huge effect that the Act will have, the government
is introducing it in stages, with the first implementation
date having been 1 January 2007, and the last date being
October 2008. The Act will have a myriad number of practical
implications for companies and a good working knowledge
of the changes is essential. Due to its significance we
have set up this separate area on our website, containing
numerous bulletins and helpful advice on the Act.
