Led by Media Partner Martin Haines and assisted by Margaret Parvin, Davenport Lyons acted for Number 9 Films in connection with the production of the feature film And When Did You Last See Your Father? based upon British poet Blake Morrison’s award-winning memoir. The film is produced by Stephen Woolley (The Company of Wolves, The Crying Game, Interview with the Vampire, and The End of the Affair) and Elizabeth Karlsen (Sixty-Six, Ladies in Lavender and Little Voice) both of Number 9 Films. The impressive cast includes Colin Firth (as Morrison), Jim Broadbent (as Morrison’s dad) and Juliet Stevenson. The film is directed by the BAFTA winning director Anand Tucker (Hilary and Jackie and Shopgirl) and the memoir was adapted for the screen by Starter For Ten author David Nicholls.

Davenport Lyons advised Number 9 Films in relation to all aspects of the production of the film from talent agreements to the multi-party production financing and distribution of the film. The film was developed by the UK Film Council’s Development Fund and slate initiative in association with Film4, Intandem Films, EM Media and the Irish Film Board and was the first project to be produced under this development franchise. As the film qualifies as a Schedule 1 Film, it has attracted the new tax credit which was discounted by Future Films. The Royal Bank of Scotland GAP financed the film and discounted pre-sales with the following distributors: Sony Pictures Classics, Icon, Lusomundo, and Buena Vista International U.K., a Division of The Walt Disney Company Limited.

The film was shot entirely in the UK and is due for release in the summer of 2007.
