Davenport Lyons expands its Technology Expertise with Partner Appointment

8 Feb 2011

Davenport Lyons has appointed technology and commercial expert, Andrew Priest to its partnership. He joins the firm from Pitmans where he was a partner having previously worked at Pinsent Masons LLP.

Andrew has over 20 years of experience in advising clients on ICT and commercial contract issues, both in the private and public sector. His particular focus in recent years has been on the drafting and negotiation (sometimes the re-negotiation) of contract terms for IT/business process outsourcings and other ICT related projects, whether acting for suppliers or for customers. His expertise is further reinforced with a background in intellectual property and corporate work.

Andrew is currently chair of the Thames Valley Group for the Society for Computers & Law, the leading UK organisation for legal professionals advising and practising within the IT sector. He was previously an accredited IP specialist with the Law Society of Scotland.

Andrew is the third partner appointment for Davenport Lyons in 2011 following Angela Stallard (insolvency) and Phillip D’Costa (dispute resolution) last month.  His arrival following that of Jim Dennis just before Christmas, another IP expert, illustrates Davenport Lyons’s drive to consolidate its position as one of London’s leading rights practice within a full service environment.

Michael Hatchwell, Business Group Head commented: “Davenport Lyons has seen strong growth in its corporate, banking, finance and real estate teams and we are delighted that we are able to further enhance our reputation as a leading  firm in rights, with Andrew’s arrival.  His arrival demonstrates the firm’s continued success at attracting high calibre partners across a variety of practice areas. We continue to attract excellent candidates and we believe that we will continue to see strong growth throughout 2011.”
