Davenport Lyons Strengthens Banking Team with Appointment of New Partner
15 Nov 2010
Davenport Lyons is pleased to announce the appointment of new banking partner, Sukh Ahark. Sukh was previously a partner at Hammonds LLP in Birmingham where he led the banking team. Sukh’s appointment is the second partner appointment in as many months for the West End firm, following intellectual property partner Jim Dennis and continues Davenport Lyons’ growth strategy in contrast to the current market conditions.
Sukh’s practice focuses on acquisition finance (particularly leveraged finance) as well as other forms of structured finance and restructurings. He acts for senior and junior lenders, borrowers and financial advisors.
Michael Hatchwell Head of Corporate, Employment and HNW Business Group said: “We are delighted to welcome Sukh, to our fast expanding firm. Sukh’s appointment will further enhance the breadth and depth of our banking and finance team. This exciting development follows shortly after we received formal confirmation that Davenport Lyons is one of two firms added to HSBC’s UK panel of 13 law firms, 65 other firms having recently been removed from that panel. This panel covers corporate and real estate lending.”
